Here you can find some statistical data concerning the general situation of each country of this continent.
In addition to comprehensive information on the demographical development of each whole country, these data are also given for their administrative divisions and for their important cities.
Note: The Eastern part of Russia, which lies of course in Asia, will be treated as belonging to the continent of Europe.
Turkey and Cyprus will be considered as countries in Asia, thus not lying in Europe.
The West Bank and Gaza Strip are combined as a provisional state called Palestine.
Files of smaller island groups in the South China Sea that are regarded to belong to China (e.g. Paracel and Spratly Islands) are not separately made. These are areas in dispute; some short comments on these islands are found here below.

This group of about 130 barren low coral islands and reefs is situated in the South China Sea; position: c. 17 00N and 112 00 E. Ownership of the archipelago is disputed between China, the Philippines and Vietnam; but it is regarded as belonging to the province Hainan of China. The islands are divided in two groups: Crescent on the west and Amphitrite - with main island Woody Island - on the east. Main sources are fish, guano and oil deposits.

This island group is formed of low coral reefs and sandbars and it is situated in the South China Sea; position from 12° N to 04° N and from 110° E to 118° E. The archipelago is regarded to belong to the Hainan province of China, but the ownership is also claimed by the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam. The main islands are: Taiping Island (Itu Aba Island), Nanwei Dao (Spratly Island), and Yuya Ansha (Investigator Shoal) . Main sources are oil deposits, developed by the Philippines.
