A sharp fall in population has been recorded during the Japanese occupation (1941-12-25 / 1945-09-16).
The projected population figures beyond the year 2000 were made around 1991; the completely changed pattern of population growth during the 1990's could not have been taken in account.
This "state" has been incorporated within the state of China on 1997-07-01 ; from medio 1997 onwards see:
