Particulars:
Source "SL" = "Statisti`'cki ljetopis" (ISSN 1333-3350).
Before 1971 - as part of former Yugoslavia - there is no further administrative division known, for those figures the separate Excel file of the whole country, including division and municipalities has to be consulted (delivered by the compiler Vlado Pavicic): Croatia.
Diacritic marks, like the hacek, are regretfully not correctly displayed yet.
Note quoted from source "TB": "The serious decrease of the 2001 population compared to 1991 is not only caused by the natural decrease and the consequences of war, but mainly by using a different system of census in 2001. The new methodology is done according to UN and EU suggestions of using a "place of usual residence" formulation instead of "permanent residence", which was used before and was showing a significantly larger number of inhabitants. That was caused mainly by the fact that numerous Croatian workers abroad, which were absent from Croatia for more than a year, were also counted as permanent inhabitants. Using the same methodology, the total number of inhabitants of Croatia would have been about 4,570,000 in 2001."
